Dear Mr. Toddler,
It has been WAY too long since I've written and so much has happened in your life over the past two months. The biggest thing is the war for independence that rages on day after day! You have grown up so much and at the same time regressed a bit too. I feel like we're constantly battling over what you want versus what I want. Some days we have more patience with each other and other days we are both crying, "I want daddy" by 4:00! You tell me you want cereal, I get you cereal, but it's the wrong kind. Then, you change your mind and want grapes...oh, but the green ones won't do...today you want purple ones! One minute it's "Mommy help" the other minute it's "Mommy I can do it myself"! Yes, No, Yes, No.....you're wearing me out!
You are SO stinkin' smart I can't even handle it! You can sing your ABC's, know your full name, can tell us when your b-day is and that you get nuts and peanut butter when you turn two, and can recite multiple nursery rhymes (Little Miss Muffet, Humpty Dumpty, Wee Willie Winkie, and on and on)! I love how much you talk and all the fun things you come up with! You like to say, "Yeah, right mommy" when I say something you agree with...it's too cute!
You have also become very attached to us again...you've started waking up in the night and becoming frantic if we're not there to comfort you. Daddy is now sleeping in your room because you're waking up 3 times a night. What you don't know is that we trick you...you think we're sleeping in there during your nap and when we first put you to bed, but we just put the mattress down and some covers on it and slip right out before you've even fallen asleep. What are we going to do when you figure this out? Hopefully, you'll get back on track in a week or so!
You still love your brother so much and are too cute with him (most of the time). I can't wait for the two of you to play together someday. You guys also look so much alike...it's adorable!
I hope to write again soon...you're birthday is Saturday and we have some fun things planned for you...getting some fish (Ava lent you her old fish tank), going to the zoo, and having peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Let the good times roll!
Love you,
Mommy
