Daddy's Boy!

My Baby Noah (Or Should I say Daddy's Baby Noah?),

So, I got the stomach flu big and bad and you and Daddy have be inseparable for the past 4 days. I got so sick that you guys had to take me to the ER because I was very dehydrated. It was way past your bedtime, and even though you were quite the flirt and all the nurses wanted you to stick around, Daddy took you home and put you to bed, got our neighbor to stay with you, and came back to get me. Lots of running around for him!

You and Daddy have been busy going to the sports store, the bookstore, swimming lessons, the park, on walks, and playing around in the yard. You are now running and LOVE balls more than ever. All I can hear as I lay in my bed is you running and yelling "Ba ba" over and over again! And, every time I see you, you're snacking....So, I'm not so sure you're going to be too thrilled to have Mama back in action...we definitely don't play all day like you and Daddy do!

I miss you, but I know this alone time with Daddy has been so fun for the both of you. What a lucky boy you are!

Love you,

Mommy

Happy 1st Birthday Baby!

My Baby Noah,

What a bittersweet time....you are now 1 and my little baby is so not a little baby anymore. Today at your one year appointment, you measured 32 inches long and weigh 26.4 lbs. That puts you in the 97th percentile for height and 90-95th for weight. There's also this checklist that we fill out every time we go to determine how you're doing with your development...typically you've been ahead by a few months...but today you were WAY ahead. Now, I say this for us to look back at someday and say....."So that's why we had to start disciplining you at such a young age"! There are pros and cons that go along with your abilities....the pros are that you can follow simple directions, can get your point across pretty well, can walk and run all over the place, and can start to become more independent. The cons are that your brain and body are functioning at a higher level than you can behaviorally handle. For example, you want to do things that could be dangerous to you..when I tell you "no" and move you, you scream and have even tried to bite me a few times. Now, I know you can't believe that you would do such naughty things, but believe me....we are in for some battles. You are one to always keep me on my toes!

Speaking of, I slaved away and made your birthday cake for your party (which we all know is an amazing accomplishment for me)....and you hated it! All you wanted was the fruit and veggies. So typical! We even tried the next day and you still wanted nothing to do with it. Whose kid are you anyway?

Even though I still feel like I'm in survival mode trying to raise you, I wouldn't have it any other way...you are my Noah and I love you more and more each day!

Love,

Your exhausted but blessed Mommy

Am I a dog?

Dearest Noah,

I think you might be confused as to whether you're a little boy or a little doggie....you love to pick up toys (mainly balls) with you mouth now, you love to play in the dog dishes, you love to take dog treats out of the treat bin (but won't give them to the dogs), we've caught you resting on the dog bed, and most of all you now love to climb in and out of the doggie door..are you trying to escape?

Love you my puppy,

Mommy
