Your first babysitter!

You had your first babysitter on Saturday, April 21st, and it went really well...for you anyway! You gave Mommy and Daddy a rough time all day...you wouldn't take your nap, you wanted to eat every hour, and you decided it would be fun to scream all day! So, we were scared to leave you with anyone else (for their sake) : ) BUT, you did great with your babysitter and had a good night. We were only gone for 4 1/2 hours, but I thought about you every minute....hoping you were happy and hoping you were making the babysitter happy too!

You did so well for her that she decided to come back and watch you two more times last week. She came on Thursday and on Saturday. We had to go to a rehearsal dinner and a wedding reception. You were an angel baby.....where did the screamer go?? We came home both nights to you sleeping on her chest! You'd never done that before, so mommy and daddy were jealous : ( So, it looks like you're turning over a new leaf and starting to get comfortable in this new world!

I love my swing...TODAY!

Noah,

Today, you love your swing! Now, who knows about tomorrow, but today you like looking up at yourself in the mirror and at the mobile. You have been a bit of a challenge for me and your daddy lately (that's an understatement), but now today you have been so happy and content that we got to meet friends at the mall. I think you're going through a growth spurt because you eat like crazy! You used to eat every 3 hours or so, but the past few days you've wanted to eat every 2 hours or so.

Trip to the High School

Noah,

We went to Webster Groves High School yesterday and introduced you to all the kids mommy used to teach. You were having a bad day from the get go, so I should've known to cancel, but we forged ahead. You cried most of the time, so we might try to go back in a few weeks. Everyone loved you even though your face was scrunched up and red from wailing! Everyone wanted to hold you and help you calm down, and some people actually got you to fall asleep! Impressive!

You and I have gotten in a good routine of walking in the morning. We park at the high school track up the road and walk on a path that takes us to Starbucks! We walk for an hour and you seem to love to nap the whole way!

You are smiling more and more now for me and your daddy! We make silly noises and faces to get you to smile for us, but whatever it takes to keep you from wailing : )

Say Cheese...or should I say....Scream?!?!

Noah,

What a weekend we've had together! We took you to get your one month pictures taken on Saturday, and of course I had in mind what I wanted and it sure didn't turn out that way! You were so calm and peaceful when we got there, but as soon as we took you out of your stroller and started the pictures you turned into the "screamer"! We did all we could to calm you down, but you weren't having it. We changed your diaper, gave you a bottle, gave you your binkie...you did not want your picture taken. I, of course, became somewhat frazzled, but your daddy stayed calm and eventually we threw in the towel and decided to call it a day. The photographer did manage to get 3 pictures taken and they turned out cute. So, we bought an 8x10 collage of you and you'll see it on the shelf in our room. Now you'll know the story behind what looks to be a peaceful scene!

Do we dare try again next month? To be continued....

Big Boy

Noah,

You had your 1 month doctor appointment yesterday. You did so well at your appointment, that you make a liar out of your daddy and me. See, you cry a lot! We thought for sure you'd cry when we had to wake you up and strip you down to your diaper, but of course, you were happy as a clam! We were so proud of you...especially your daddy! You've grown 1 and 1/2 inches since you were born! When you were born you weighed 8lbs, 3oz and measured 21 inches. You now measure 22 1/2 inches and weigh a whopping 11lbs, 7.5 oz!!!

You slept in your room alone again last night! You seem to like it in there and I love rocking you to sleep in your rocking chair. I swear you smiled at me while we were rocking, and I feel like I live each day to see it again (even if it is a gas smile)!

You are waking up now from a nap...better get you and feed you soon!

This is for you! I want you to have something to look at when you are older and can read! So, against my better judgement (because who has time for this), I am setting up this site to reord all your memorable moments.

Let's start with last night. You were exactly 5 weeks old yesterday, and I decided to put you in your own room for the first time. You make all kinds of noises (night and day) and it was making it really hard for me to sleep. People have said you sound like a little animal, and Daddy has even said you sound like a horse! So, off to the big boy crib for you! You did GREAT!!! You slept from 10:00 to 2:00 and then from 2:30 t0 6:00. We might be making some progress!
