Let It Snow!

Baby Noah,

Today you experienced snow! At first, you didn't seem to have an opinion one way or the other, but after you saw Brooks running around in it your curiousity kicked in. You rolled around a bit and even did a face plant into a cold pile of snow. You didn't cry when that happened and seemed to like the feel of it on your lips!

What fun for Daddy and I to watch your little mind and body discover new things!

Love you,

Mommy

Growing Up!

Dear Noah,

It's been way too long since I've written to you and you are now 9 months old! I really can't believe it...at times it has seemed we would never get past some obstacle (getting all four top teeth at once) and at times it has seemed like the days are flying by and before you know it you have mastered so many big boy things (crawling, pulling up on the toilet, feeding yourself).

You're a very big guy...so many people comment on it and seem to think you're going to be a linebacker (what's that?)! You are wearing 18-24 month clothes and over Thanksgiving I was reminded several times by Gramma Naher and Gramma Marcia that your clothes were too small for you....I guess I was trying to cram you into 12-18 month stuff....yes, I'm cheap and like to get our full use out of the clothes cousin Carter has let you borrow!

Thanksgiving was interesting this year. We are so thankful for you, but I do have to say that traveling with you was somewhat challenging. You LOVED playing with your cousins, but you HATED sleeping in the new environments. You decided you would rather sit up all night and talk to us...then, on the last night you decided to sit up all night and scream at us! Christmas will be interesting too. We are doing the same thing....going to Columbia and then to KC.

We've had fun taking you new places around St. Louis. I took you to a place called Monkey Joe's where you loved jumping and rolling around in a big blow up bouncy thing! And, we took you to Missouri Botanical Gardens Christmas display where you loved watching the trains, looking at the lights, and more importantly, people watching!

I promise to write to you a few more times this month!

Love you,

Mommy

Baby Motzart!

My Noah,

You are now 7 months, have a total of 6 teeth (2 on bottom and 4 on top), and are showing some signs of wanting to crawl! You are a busy little guy....you notice everything, want to touch everything, and want to eat everything! You seem to love music and anything that involves music...you are so happy at Kindermusik class that I sometimes wonder if you might actually have some kind of musical talent someday; as we all know, I TRIED to play the piano and guitar in my time, let's hope you have better luck than I did!

I think the days of the 2 hour naps are over.....it seems you only need 2 one to one and a half hour naps now. Darn it! You really spoiled me! As I type this, you're waking up, talking to your elephant. Time to get you up!

Love you,
Mommy

Boy's Week!

Mr. Noah,

A few weeks ago I went on a 3 day trip with my friends from graduate school and left you in the care of your Daddy! You guys had too much fun...I'm not even sure I was missed! You and Daddy went to Grant's Farm with Gramma and Grampa, Aunt Becky, Uncle Jon, and cousin Carter. I heard that you loved it and really enjoyed petting the horses! I also heard you were such a good boy...why is it that you decide to be so easy when I'm not around???

Love you,

Forever Young

My Baby Noah,

I hope you when you see this someday you can tell how proud Daddy and I are and how much you are loved! How I wish you could stay young like this forever, but I know you must grow up...so, here is a video for us to remember you at 6 months old!

I love you more and more each day,

Mommy

Sunday Shiner!

Baby Noah,

Today at church, Daddy and I decided to keep you in the service with us (we're sick of getting paged to come rescue you from the nursery). Well, you decided to dive in my arms while I was trying to get your bottle out of the diaper bag and low and behold, you hit your head on the wooden arm rest! You let out the loudest wail right in the middle of the sermon. I think the whole congregation got silent and the pastor lost his train of thought! Oops! Needless to say, we left immediately.

Take a look at your shiner:
These look like mug shots...you poor thing!

Mommy

6 months and counting!

Mr. Noah,

Your 6 month doctor appointment was last week (or maybe longer now....who can keep track of the days anymore) and you are 18.8 lbs (50-75th percentile), 27 3/4 inches (90th percentile), and growing up too fast for me somedays and not fast enough other days!

You got your shots again, cried briefly, but were fine again when daddy let you rip up the paper on the patient table. Such a boy! The most interesting development of the appointment was learning that you're working on getting in all four of you top teeth at once....No wonder you're waking up again in the night and seem to be a touch fussier (oh, who am I kidding...WAY FUSSIER) than your usual smiley self. I've had to be paged at the YMCA nursery and at the church nursery the past few weeks...and believe me, it's not so amusing! You used to love going to both those places, but lately you've just not been yourself....or is this the true you...oh please say it isn't so!

You still take two naps a day, 9-11 and 1-3. But, I wonder how much longer you'll do that. Some days it's nice because I can get a lot done during those times, but it sure does make it hard to plan things out of the house. We go to My Gym class on Mondays and Kindermusik on Tuesdays. You LOVE Kindermusik.....something about singing and dancing with Mommy seems right up your alley.....maybe you're secretly making fun of me in your head and it's funny to see me make a fool out of myself.....whatever keeps you happy! You're favorite song is "Once I saw a little bird come hop, hop hop"...you stop whatever you're doing and listen with your big, buggy eyes! Too cute!

You're sitting up all by yourself now and have been consistently for about a week now. When you fall, you fall onto your stomach and it looks like you might want to crawl soon. Or, you're already putting one foot in front of the other when you're standing up, holding my hands, so who knows, maybe you'll skip crawling and go straight to walking.....Yikes!

Love you my little grouch,
Mommy

I can do it myself!

Dearest Baby Noah,

You can now hold your bottle all by yourself! Sometimes you just want to bite on it, but look at how big and independent you're getting! You'll be 6 months tomorrow and I'm trying to get you to sleep in your crib for your naps. You still take your 2 naps in your swing. Yesterday you took a one hour nap in your crib, but that's not long enough for you....you woke up very crabby! So, we'll keep working on it! One day I put Daisy in there with you just to get you to see it was a fun place to be...not sure that was such a good idea, but you seemed to get a kick out of it!

Love you,
Mommy

My Gym Rat

Dear Noah,

Daddy and I took you to your class at My Gym on Monday (Labor Day). It was fun for Daddy to see you explore all the new toys and try all the activities they have set up for you. You're the youngest kiddo there, so sometimes I feel kind of bad for you....or me (I have to carry you around everywhere and the other kids can walk or crawl)! You seemed to have a good time for the first 30 minutes, but then I think it was all too much for you to handle. Well, we also woke you up from your nap to get you there on time...oops! We also think you're working on getting some more teeth....you're crabby, not sleeping the best, and have a rash on your chin. What a mess you are! Poor Daddy was sweating to death when it was all over...I'm not sure if it was from the activities or from your crying!

It'll just be you and me next week....maybe you'll be more yourself and ready to try the BIG SWING!

Love you,

Mommy
